Did you know that Bremen High School has a peer mediation program?
The peer mediation program is a great resource available to students who are experiencing conflict, and can really help to resolve problems before they escalate. Students may request a mediation through the 5 star app. If all parties involved in the conflict agree to come to mediation, they will be given a pass to come to the social work office, where a trained student mediator will help talk through and resolve the conflict.
Everything that gets discussed in peer mediation is confidential, meaning it does not get discussed outside of the mediation room.
The types of conflicts that should be brought to peer mediation are: gossip/rumors, friendship problems, teasing, arguments, or being left out.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a conflict with another peer, a peer mediation is a great option to try and prevent an escalating conflict. For more information about peer mediations, please see Ms. Null in the social work office
