There is a class at Bremen called Applied Engineering. There are mostly freshmen in the class but there also are sophomores, juniors and seniors. The teacher is Mr. Mack. The students seem to love this class.
Recently the students made a Paxton/Patterson LSRAV Dragster. The little race cars were made out of wood. First students had to cut the block of wood. It had to be cut down. Then they had to drill holes in the wood. It had to be sanded and painted. The wheels had to be put on too with metal rods.
On race day all students participated. They had to put in a CO2 canister. It had to be lined up by the fish hook and then it was go time. Students had to push the rod to release the gasses and then it was a contest to see whose car got to the other side first.
There are many other projects lined up for this year. There will be bridge building, drones and even rockets.
