You help people live the rest of their lives. There are many factors in the business of real estate such as, the job market, and how much they earn on a yearly basis . These factors are very important considering the fact that you want to be able to have a job in the real estate industry with not much hassle, and you also want to know if you will be making good money or not. Two very important factors when choosing a career.

The job market when considering a career is a huge factor when it comes to deciding your lifelong career. You would most likely want to know whether there will be jobs in the future of your career so in that case you can make a decision and change your career before it’s too late. That way you know whether or not you have a chance in getting into that career path. Recent studies show “There are currently an estimated 348,800 real estate agents in the United States. The real estate agent job market is expected to grow by 5.8% between 2016 and 2026.”(CareerExplorer). The real estate industry will grow by an estimated 5.8% which doesn’t seem like that much but it is actually thousands and thousands of people are joining the real estate industry. Business is definitely booming! Although when the economy is down real estate goes along with it. According to this article, The job market for real estate agents in the United States, “As economic activity declines and interest rates rise, the volume of sales and the subsequent demand for agents falls.”(CareerExplorer). The next very important factor is definitely the major priority when considering the career that I will have until I retire.

The median salary of a real estate agent is around $50,730 according to the U.S. Bureau of labor statistics. But you also have to take in the fact that you make money off each house that you sell. So the more expensive the house, and the more houses you sell, the more commission you earn if the sales. Also you do not need a college degree to become a real estate agent and can get your real estate license as soon as you are 18 years of age. You also have to take in account that you are not getting paid by the hour. You will have sleepless nights, drowsy days, and restless weekends. You may also have to travel a lot by car depending on different house locations and office locations of your company. It is also very simple to start your own real estate business. You can receive all of your required licenses at the age of 18 and do not need to attend college although it may be useful. Real estate is also more of a learning on the job type of career. Over time you figure out the tricks and trades of the business and really start to take off.

In conclusion, when deciding on your lifelong career, it is very important to figure out what the job market is on the career that you are interested in. That way you can have a better understanding of whether or not you want that to be your career. Lastly, it is also important to know how much you’re getting paid. Hopefully you want to make more than enough money to be able to save up and go on vacations and buy nice stuff. All very great things to take in fact when deciding on your career.
