Labor and delivery nurses assist pregnant women throughout childbirth and coaching mothers through difficult contractions and encouraging them also. Without nurses, you won’t be able to deliver your baby. Labor and delivery nurses have skills and experience and with them your birth experience will be amazing and memorable. There are many factors when considering the job of a labor and delivery nurse; earning potential and job market, training and the day-to-day duties of the profession.

There are many factors to think about when considering the job market of a profession of a labor and delivery nurse. “Although labor and delivery nursing is a sought out nursing job, the field is expected to grow. The bureau of labor statistics predicts this nursing profession will grow by 16% through 2024, faster than average for occupations.” (www.nursingjobs.com). With this job there is always a need for it to help mothers throughout their birthing process and explain to them how the process will go. There will always be a continuation of women having children so you’ll need to care to help the mother and the unborn child to have a safe and smooth birth which isn’t easy. The job market for a labor and delivery nurse is great, I say there is always going to be a need for anything medical. Job opportunities for nurses are expected to be good, you’ll “need to earn a degree and stated licence.”( www.study.com). “Optional certification is available in this field and continuing education may be required. Demand for all registered nurses is strong, with job opportunities expected to grow by 11% through 2028.” (www.study.com). Earning a higher degree will get you even higher chances to get you a job and actually get it at first you’ll have to work nights and holidays etc. but what you are earning is worth it. You can earn an associate or a bachelor’s degree in science but you’ll have to take other tests to have your licence etc. People are always looking for nurses and always will be in need for them and the profession of a nurse is great for the job market. The job market of labor and delivery nurses is great for many reasons including demanding for them and their education.

The wide range is due to a number of factors such as experience level, location, and type of institution.” (www.americanmobile.com). Depending on what level of education, location and institution you can make more in one place or other but you’ll make a decent living. Nurses are happy with their earnings and with that they will be happy with trips etc. To become a nurse you’ll need schooling and that’s a lot of school debat that you will have to pay off. “The average salary of the L&D RN is $55,426 with a range of $46,225-$86,706. Locaction, experience, certifications, and experience affect salary.”(www.registernursing.org). “Jobs are forecasted to continue to grow in this field, as our population, indeed the world’s population, continues to grow.”(www.registernursing.org). Being a nurse you don’t have to worry about a lot of finances you will have to make enough to support yourself on your own even working 3-4 days a week but 12 hour shifts. You won’t have to worry about money. You should be able to set a living for yourself and be successful. The potential earnings for a labor and delivery nurse is a good earning very positive about this field.
