Imagine sparks flying everywhere while you are trying to weld together a straight line with
two pieces of metal. This is what welders have to do. Being in a hot room with heavy clothing
and protective gear this is what welders have to endure everyday while trying to be precise. I
always liked to use my hands for everything when I was little, I always liked to craft or build
things like in art class, I work in a hands on job and I don’t mind getting dirty while I work; I
would like to be a welder one day when I’m finished with my education. This is why welding is a
good profession for me and people who like a hands on job.

I would always like to use my hands for everything when I was little. I would always help
my dad fix things around the house or add things to it. Whenever my dad needed help to fix
something he would call me and I would hand him tools or sometimes he would teach me and
make me fix whatever we were doing. For example I would help him drill in the screws. I would
hold things for him when he needed extra help. I would like to always play sports in P.E class.
Every time we would play a sport in school I would always want to participate in it. I like to use
my hands whenever I can for a sport like baseball, basketball, or dodge ball. I always have a
tendency to use my hands for everything I do.

I always liked to craft or build things in art class or at home. I would create projects at
school or at home. Whenever I had art class at school I would always like to take things and
build on them and make sure it was neat. At home I would always build things or play with
legos. Recently my friend and I built a cart for a school project. We went to Menards to buy
supplies like wood, screws, paint, wheels, and a handlebar. We screwed In the planks together
and made sure they were sturdy then we put on the wheels and painted the whole cart and put
our inventory inside. I always enjoyed crafting things at home and painting or drawing at school.

I don’t mind getting dirty while I work at my job. At work I have to clean the location of the
car wash at the end of the day like the tunnel and outside. At the end of the day about an hour
before we close the car wash I have to clean the tunnel where the cars go through. First I have
to power wash the ground, scrub the walls and wash the windows. Usually by the time I’m done
my clothes and arms are full of grease residue that lifts up off of the metal objects and the back
of the heaters and blowers. I get to go home after that so I don’t mind if I get a bit dirty. I also
have to grease all the joints throughout the tunnel of the car wash and clean out the vacuums
outside. We usually grease the joints of the brushes and miters every Thursday with a grease
gun that u have to pump so it can come out onto the object. We also have to empty out the
vacuums every night into a garbage bag or container. The dust usually gets on my coworkers
and me. Getting dirty at work usually doesn’t bother me because I’m getting paid for it and I get
to go home and shower after.

I’ve always liked to use my hands for everything when I was little this is why I chose
welding. I always liked crafting or building things in class or at home. I don’t mind getting dirty
while I work at my job. Using my hands, crafting and building, getting dirty at work for all these
reasons is why I would like to be a welder. Welding is an important job and is essential to many
companies and industries. It’s important to the automotive industry, construction and aviation
Industry. I can help by welding cars, planes, or buildings. It can go from small to big things.
